IMCA Coronavirus Updates

To ensure the health and safety of our community, University of California, Irvine continues to closely monitor the outbreak of coronavirus/COVID-19.

We look forward to welcoming visitors back to IMCA, however, the museum will remain closed to the public through April 2021. We understand that many museums are reopening in Orange County, but as a program of the University of California, Irvine, IMCA follows UCI’s return-to-campus protocol that requires all non-essential university staff to continue working remotely for the spring quarter.

UPDATE: IMCA has launched free Virtual School Visits—a one-hour, interactive, distance-learning experience designed for grades 3 – 12. The program is open to all public, private, charter, and homeschooled students (including students whose schools have shifted to remote learning.) A Virtual School Visit, facilitated by IMCA education staff, UCI student educators, and IMCA teaching artists, includes an inquiry- and dialogue-based experience looking at artworks in IMCA’s collection and hands-on activities where students are encouraged to explore ideas and respond to the art making processes.

The website will continue to be updated with new information.

We deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We will be in touch periodically, and in the meantime, please stay well!
